The objectives   of this curriculum to integrate the ophthalmic assistant with the health welfare program & essential development needs, by qualifying the graduate to assist in treatment of minor cases ,to assist the ophthalmologist & refer other cases to the specialist as needed.

* To take the history of the patient, to prepare the patient for examination & diagnosis .         

* Adequate training for students to have enough skills &   ophthalmic knowledge   regarding ocular disorder & diseases. 

* To be aware of causes of blindness domestically and globally.

* To perform minor operations like chalazion , stye & abscesses in the conjunctiva.etc……

* Medical education and awareness to community. 

* To do medical counseling for patients.

* To participate in medical surveys and researches.

* To be committed to provisional and medical ethics.

 * To update himself by continuous learning & education.
